awww, poor Lucinda! i was hoping she'd find true love ...and not only is he lusting over someone but did he have to pick her own grandson?? :devil
luke will do the right thing...he loves his grandma so much but i'm afraid he won't be able to tell her because he knows it will devastate her, maybe he can confide in Holden since he usually does....Holden is good with his advice lately (especially w/his kids) :muchlove

I do think it's stupid that Lucinda agrees to just magically marry Brian. Like others have said, it's out of character, and it doesn't really make sense for her to run off and get hitched so suddenly! I can understand she is infatuated with Brian, but that doesn't mean two people get married at the drop of a dime. :smack

I do have to admit I find the spoiler very "soapy" in the sense that Brian turns around and kisses Luke. Honestly, the jury is out for me. I want to wait until I see it on screen before I make a judgment call. For all we know, Luke might resist the kiss and push Brian away, and then Brian tries to convince Luke not to say anything... then Luke agonizes for a day or so before he works up the courage to say something. That would be realistic I think. But that's just my speculation.

I just don't hope it comes down to Brian and Luke sneaking around like they have some big secret, with Lucinda oblivious, and Luke worried about hurting her, for months or weeks, etc. The longer Luke takes to tell his grandma, the better chance he'll have of destroying his relationship with her.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Holden and Lily's reactions, if their included in this story. I think Noah will be shocked, and stand by Luke.

I honestly doubt the show will have Luke and Brian go beyond kissing. Maybe Brian will try to kiss Luke again, but I just don't see it going beyond anything more than that. I know some people were worrying on another message board the two might sleep together, but that won't happen, and would make the situation worse. :shutup

Lucinda is faced with cancer, betrayal by her new husband with, of all people, her own grandson... Luke will have to deal with this too, of course....

It's a true, old timey type, soap opera story. Only difference is that Luke is a guy, a grandson, as opposed to another woman, or granddaughter, or sister, or best friend. As fans, I don't think we ever like it when our favorite characters or couples are written into these types of stories, but they are a staple of the genre, other wise, there wouldn't be so many parodies done about it. (I still remember Carol Burnett doing As the Stomach Turns on her old show. )

On top of it all, what kind of a spin is it putting on Luke and Noah's gay storyline?

The same as it would on any other love relationship. Luke and Noah are going to have to go through the same things as Katie and Brad, or Jack and Carly, or Lily and Holden, or Tom and Margo did when they had to deal with secrets and lies and other people being inserted into their relationships.

I am sad that Brian is going to turn out to be such a jacka$$. I liked Brian and Lucinda together. I also don't like that he'll be taking advantage of a, drunk, emotionally hurt, young person, but I also didn't like it when Craig did it to Jennifer.

I am hoping that, at the end of the storyline, I will be seeing Lucinda getting even and understanding that Brian is the one who should be punished, as only she can do, and not Luke. I can hope!
